Flow Pattern (Differences of Mixing Mechanism)
Conventional multi stage turbine Each impeller discharged the fluid toward the vessel wall, and the split both upward and downward directions at the impeller height. Therefore these streams only create the small circulation flows around each impeller, as if the invisible wall exists between the impellers, which may not be useful for the uniform mixing throughout the vessel.

MAXBLEND, Large paddle impeller developed by Sumitomo In case of L/T>1.8, single circulation flow discharged intensively from wide bottom paddle part enable to disappear the stagnant region and invisible wall. However L/T>1.8, flow discharged from the bottom cannot reach to the liquid surface because of its long path, therefore stagnant region exist at the top of skinny vessel.

TORNADO One circulation flow throughout the vessel can be obtained by progressive flow pattern downward along the vessel wall. This unique flow pattern is generated by the discharging strength differences from impeller top to bottom and the combined effect of impeller, vessel and internal.
